    Default ID requested for Lycaenidae species

    GREETINGS FROM INDIA!!

    My friend captured the attached specimen from Dergaon, Assam, India in the month of August 2019. I am extreemly sorry for poor quality image. It would be fruitful for me if you guide me alongwith id key of this specimen.

    Could be wrong, but i think it's Dacalana penicilligera

    It should be Dacalana cotys.

    Evans states of D. penicilligera, UnH white band very narrow, just under 1mm. Considerable seasonal variations.
    The fact that he did not state anything else means the female is the same. In fact there is no reason for the female to have a broad band . In all species they are similar to the male.

    In D. cotys then under Pratapa he state the band is broader.
    Thankfully there is a set of male & female D. cotys.

    It can be certain that the broad banded female in the link below is D. cotys.
    The white HW submarginal markings are seasonal variations.

    PS. A third species D. vidura is also stated to occur in Assam.
    This too have a rather narrow white band.
