Default Butterfly and transverse orientation or positive photoreceiptivity?

    Dear Dr Seow,

Wonder whether butterfly exhibit transverse orientation like moths? Or it is simply attracted by the ultra UV light wave of lamps? Cos a Spotted Sawtooth came into my apartment after 12 of the night and orbiting around the lamp.

    Thanks~

I have really no idea about that.
Since moths & butterflies evolved together they probably do.
Many crepuscular butterflies are attracted to light, eg. Common Evening Brown & Palm King as well as Skippers.

    TL Seow: Cheers.
