Default Assistance to ID Neptis Spp Shot at Northern Thailand

    Dear Dr Seow,

Could this be a Grey Sailor (Neptis leucoporos)? It was shot at Northern Thailand. Unfortunately, I did not manage to shoot it's underside.

    Thanks.

    Neptis nata adipala.

In Thailand it is quite difficult since there are many similar species.

It is not N. leucoporos as in this sp.the 4 FW postdiscal spots are different ie the lower 2 are small.

Similarly comparing the FW submarginal spots at the apex they are bent in N. nata & soma.
In N soma it is strongly bent in & most spots are large.

The spots match N. nata corr3ectly.

    TL Seow: Cheers.
