Caltoris sp.

Here's a Caltoris which i can't identify but i'm sure it's not cormasa. This shot is raw and there were no overhead shadows and stuff so this is close to the actual colour. It's actually a very dark, almost blackish brown.

Most likely C. bromus?

It is very hard to judge the colour in shadow.
It is probably Caltoris cahira ausieni which have a dark chocolate UnH.

The other possibility is Caltoris brunnea in which the UnH is dark purple brown (like in Eulaceura osteria)
This shot, Federick, 2009 CCA is probably C. brunnea as the colour is very dark purple brown.

The strongly bowed FW & more uniformly dark underside & antennae suggest it is Baoris oceia.

I initially thought it could be a Baoris but after comparing many images online, the wingshape doesn't seem quite right. Baoris seems to have a more prominently lobed hindwing. The angle is slightly deceiving. I've attached another shot taken at a somewhat more parallel angle showing that the forewing is not as bowed as it appears in the first shot. Never managed to get parallel because it was very easily spooked.

Also, the white spots are bothering me because they seem so variable. The checklist shows one with very faint spots while there are others elsewhere with spots more developed and i don't know which ones to trust!

I was deceived by the very white spots.
In Baoris the FW is strongly bowed, the colour of the FW do not contrast with HW, & the antenna in profile is almost black, the club more gradual.

In Caltoris, the FW is shorter, less bowed, & paler than the HW; the antenna is more abruptly clubbed & typically with a large pale area.
