Charaxes aristogiton is a rare species found in India to Indochina.
In Thailand it is known only in the north.
It is also not a bred species so the chance of finding one here ,even in a butterfly house is almost zero.
It is easily confused with C. bernardus which is very variable.
C. bernardus from P. Malaysia.

1 & 2 are typical C. bernardus.
The outer margin of the HW postdiscal band is very irregular.
3 is a surprise.
The outer margin of the HW postdiscal band is quite regular.
Not sure what this should be.
Overall it looks like C. bernardus.
If it turns out to be C. aristogiton it would be a huge surprise.
4. Vindula dejone male.
TL Seow: Cheers.
Thanks Dr Seow.
