    Default Mycalesis minius?

From Doi Suthep, where this species (whatever it is) was common at lower elevations.
I realise Mycalesis ID is a nightmare, but having so many in my collection it's about time to try to straighten them out. A baseline of some correctly ID ones would help, especially for the common ones.

I think I would make these either M. perseus or M. minius, but favour the later based on the rather large ocellus in the forewing and the second inner discal band on the forewing being quite wide, though no doubt these features are variable!

Any links to articles on Mycalesis ID? Not found much at all in web searching.

    Many thanks.

Since they are both taken in the north they have to be Mycalesis intermedia which is common in Thailand.

Two species are near identical & M. distanti was formerly a ssp of M. intermedia ie as M. intermedia distanti.

    M. intermedia :range ;much of continental SE Asia.
Wings with strong merging white shadings; FW 2 spots, spot 2 very large ;HW inner margins form deep indentation in space 4 & 5.White band not angled in at top.
