(I actually happened to find a male in my bathroom a few weeks ago.)
Under the latest revision backed by DNA studies Erebidae now includes
Lymantriinae.
Arctiinae.
Erebinae (formerly Catocalinae)
many smaller subfamilies including Herminiinae.
