So, this moth under the family Erebidae or Noctuiidae?

No. 18 male Somena similis.

(I actually happened to find a male in my bathroom a few weeks ago.)

Under the latest revision backed by DNA studies Erebidae now includes
Lymantriinae.
Arctiinae.
Erebinae (formerly Catocalinae)
many smaller subfamilies including Herminiinae.
