    Default Drina maneia/mariae comparison

Ever since Nelson and I photographed a species which we identified as Drina mariae in Maliau basin, there has been a niggling doubt in my mind as to whether I got the id right. Now with an upperside shot of D. maneia, I can compare the two.

To use Sunny's favourite phrase, "a picture can paint a thousand words", or in this case, 31 words. For those of you without C&P4, page 297, it states...:
'A larger, closely allied species, D. mariae Eliot, with a narrower blackish forewing border and with the androconia not extending back into the cell, occurs as a great rarity in Borneo'. (apologies for those who have the book.)

1&2) Drina maneia (Peninsular and Borneo)
3&4) Drina mariae (Borneo only). Upperside a reduced copy of Nelson's shot on Post 69 of the Maliau Basin thread.

They are certainly beauties, Les. Well done on sorting out the identification.
