    Default Grass Blues

    Some time ago, there was a piece by one of the site experts on separating the various Grass Blues. If it is still available, could someone kindly point me to it.

    A bit of revision is necessary due the variability of the species in different regions.

    Lesser Grass Blue Zizinz otis.
    Diagnosis :HW postdiscal spots completely dislocated in upper third; FW without costal (forward margin) spots or one.
    Singapore & India.

    Pygmy Grass Blue Zizula hylax.
    Diagnosis: HW postdiscal spots in an arc: FW two costal spots [ peripheral spots always narrow.

    Pale Grass Blue Zizeeria maha.
    HW postdiscal spots in an arc 'FW with a cellspot : FW costal with one or no spot.
    Diagnosis : FW marginal & submarginal spots discrete, large ;postdiscal upper 3 spots always out of line :Often all spots dark.

    Dark Grass Blue Zizeeria karsandra.
    HW postdiscal spots in an arc :FW with a cell spot & costal spot one.
    Diagnosis :FW submarginal spots form a narrow irregular band :peripheral spots always pale ; FW upper 3 postdiscal spots usually in line.
