    Default Halpe porus?

I come across this species regularly and do not normally pay much attention to it, but this one caught my eye for one main reason.

All my photos and specimens show 2 equally sized cell spots on the upperside forewing, this appears to have only one.

    Is this just standard variation?

It is possible what you have is Halpe handa , which was formerly placed as a subspecies of Halpe homolea.
This is rather similar to porus but have a single upper cell spot.
Here is a picture of the Indian H. homolea.

I think I found the difference between porus & homolea/handa.

All valid pics of porus shows the pale submarginal spots on the hindwing poorly developed or tending towards obsolescence.

All valid pics of homolea/handa have the pale submarginal spots large & fairly prominent. Here is one from HK or Taiwan.

This one looks too much like porus and is probably just a variant.
