Congrats, KY. You were the first to get a reliable evidence of this species' existence in Singapore.

Congratulation KY and Federick for getting #299. :redbounce
Last week #298, this week #299...hope next week someone will get #300 ;P
We were lucky today.
When she flew past us, she looked like a Yellow Glassy Tiger to us. She perched a few times, each time not more than 10 seconds, giving us very little time to take more shots.
Well done, Fed. A rather pristine female too.
You can compare it with the underside shot of a female that I shot at Bunker Trail some time back.
Nice shots from both and congratulation once again!!!
Cheers!
Great Job Fed for nailing down the #299!
Congrats Guys, :gbounce:
Congratulation Fed and KY!!

A few other nature enthusiasts have reported several more sightings of the Wanderer. This is also on Ubin, and towards the Malay Village side of the island. It appears that there is a possibility that it's breeding on the island, and members should be on the lookout for the host plant (which I'm still asking NParks for a picture of).
It's also been seen on several trails around the Village Headman's house.
The recorded hostplant( Capparis heydeana) is non-native here. The only native Capparis in Singapore is I think C. micrantha.
In the past P. valeria probably feeds on this.
A cultivated variety of C. micrantha is grown in Malay villages for its peppery seeds. It is called melada and is said to be very common in ricefield region of Kedah & Perlis.
Perhaps the headman should know whether melada shrubs are found in the village.
