1. Atrophaneura varuna female.
A. varuna FW with the basal & cell regions dark, the dark stripes within the cell obscure ; male HW scentfold triangular.
female with a whitish area near the FW lower margin.

A. aidoneus. FW with the ground colour more uniform & thstripes within the cell more visible; Male HW scentfold with regular curved margin.
Female without the whitish patch near the lower margin.

2. Pantoporia sandaka davidsoni male.
The two specieas are even more confusing in India where the dsf P. hordonia closely resembles the wsf P. sandaka.
P. sandaka davidsoni.
FW submarginal grey band always broken into beads.
Male postdiscal band ( with round head & a foot extending inwards along the lower margin) with the foot large.
Male HW speculum white , shiny & may be seen with the FW raised high.

Note the FW postdiscal band's foot is large denoting a male but the left FW is raised showing no white speculum , thus a male P. hordonia. Correction dsf female P. sandaka compare Yutaka webpage female at Nan.

5. Jamides alecto.
3 species are very similar in which the HW basal most band is dislocated.
Jamides caeruleus ;The underside is dark shaded & the lowest stria of the FW postdiscal band hangs free in between the border of the band.Male bright blue.

Similar to J. alecto FW last stria of the postdiscal band hangs from the inner border of the band.

6. Mycalesis intermedia.
Three species are very similar in India.
Mycalesis mineus.
HW inner margins of ocelli forms a triangular indentation in the upper half.
FW spot 2 fairly large, whiye striae usually not much enhanced.
Male UpH brand elongate short, dark covered by the hair pencil.
UnF brand dark elongate, short not reaching the postdiscal white band.

M. intermedia. FW spot 2 always very large ;white striae moderately enhanced.
Inner margins of ocelli forms a deep sharp indentation in the upper half.
Male brand on UnF reddish brown, elongate but does not reach the postdiscal band.
UpH brand laso elongate fully covered by the hair pencil.
