Found these small green caterpillars feeding on Gordonia axillaris in Hong Kong. Photos show them first at 1cm long and then at 2cm. Would greatly appreciate if anyone can identify them.

Moth cats have such pronounced gonads? Or are those just body markings? :thinking:
Thanks! Was wondering whether they were butterfly or moth caterpillars - now I know. Incidentally I thought those red spots were body markings too.
Probably some sort of Nolidae.
The red dots are body markings.
would have to rear one through to the adult for certain.

Hi Roger,
I did post them there actually, but the post got buried quite quickly with all the new posts these last few days.
I am in fact rearing two of them which have shown slow but steady growth over 3 weeks now. Will post photos of the adult once they pupate and eclose.
