Description
The Striped Black Crow has velvety brown wings above and the forewing is usually unmarked. The hindwing has a series of white submarginal spots and a corresponding row of whitish submarginal streaks. The dorsum of the forewing is curved in the male, but is straight in the female of this species.

Habitat & Habits
The butterfly is often encountered feeding on flowering trees in the forest reserves in Singapore. At other times, they are rarely encountered, except singly, usually flying at treetop level.

Other Observations
The species is believed to be distasteful to birds and is a model for some Papilionidae species and even some day-flying moths in Malaysia
