Description
This species, Hyarotis adrastus praba, has an irregular white fascia on the underside of the hindwing. There are 3 apical spots on the forewings. A distinct feature of this genus, the antennal club bears a white patch just before the elbow of the apicus.

Habitat & Habits
This Skipper is not often seen in Singapore and has been observed only on a few occasions on the fringes of the nature reserves to the north of the Central Catchment area. I have seen the species on one occasion, feeding on bird droppings on the forest floor.

Like most Hesperiidae, this species is a fast flyer and zips around the undergrowth rapidly. When it stops to rest or bask in sunlit spots, it closes its wings in an upright position.
