Description
The species is distinct in that the underside hindwing basal area is a bright coppery green, with a sharply defined white discal band. The distal area of the hindwing is washed a steely purple. This species can be separated from Hasora vitta vitta in that it does not have a spot near the apex of the forewing, as Hasora vitta normally has.

Habitat & Habits
This Skipper is often found in the vicinity of hill-station bungalows in Fraser's Hill and Cameron Highlands in Malaysia - particularly at dawn and dusk. The species often flies in the company of another species in the genus, Hasora vitta vitta (The Plain Banded Awl).

In Singapore, Hasora taminatus malayana is rarely seen, probably because of its flying habits. It can sometimes be found feeding on flowering trees and stopping to rest after feeding. It is a fast flyer and difficult to net.
