Description
The large black spot in space 7 is very distinct in contrast with the white background of the undersides of the wings. Both sexes are blackish brown above.
Habitat & Habits
This species is usually encountered in heavy forest in dark shaded areas. Neopithecops zalmora zalmora has a feeble flight and appears silvery on the wing.
The species has usually been encountered singly. Its feeble, fluttering erratic flight, usually at no more than a metre above the ground, in the darkest recesses of the nature reserves, gives it a moth-like appearance.
