Took this very interesting shot of 2 Lascar. From the underside appearance they are 2 different species. Can anyone verify this?

They r a pair of malyan lascars courting. The females normally have bolder orange bands than the male on the underside (http://www.geocities.com/rainforest/vines/2382/nymphalidae/nymphalinae/tiga.htm). In u'r photo, the female has her wings spread. In some butts, this means that she is willing to mate. Look at how their antennae touch so lovingly. They are communicating to find out more abt each other.

Thank Aaron, you're right about the specie. Seems your knowledge on these flutterbies is rather astounding for a young person. Either you're genuinely interested in this field or your simply troll the web for your answers.

Richard Thx, i wonder how u managed to achieve this interesting shot as the only photo of a lascar that i have taken was one where it flew off so can only see a strange orange spot. Must find a cam. with faster shutter speed.

Thanks Federick. Well Aaron, you missed your chance to learn when you turn down the invite to shoot at Wong's spa. Maybe next time.
