Finally got my record shot of this species. Found it on the underside of a leaf under shady canopy condition. This shot was taken at ISO1600, f/4.5, 1/25s, handheld. A tripod would have been a big help as the butt was very tame.

That's more than a record shot. Well taken given the difficult lighting condition in the shade. Wouldn't have been able to nail such a shot if not for the ISO1600. ;P

Thanks, Khew. It was like a replay of the scene when we shot the Yellow Chequerd Lancer a week ago, as the location of this Awl is only one or two feet away from the Lancer spot, but without your presence and your tripod :).

This bugger has been seen in that location a few times already, but always too quick for me to nail a good shot of it. Perhaps next time... ;P The host plant must be nearby somewhere... and the Hasora spp. feed on dicotyledons, unlike many other Hesperiidae. Hope your sharp eyes can spot the leaf shelter of this species one of these days.

Horace, nice shot. Wah, you can handhold a T180 at 1/25.

Thanks, Federick. FYI the posted pic was the only keeper out of 30 odd shots taken.
