Got only one shot at the underside of this large snow-flat like butterfly (pic 1) at BTNR. The wings are in pretty bad condition, but checking the plate at the Hong Kong site, seems to suggest that this is a male Chestnut Angle. Please help to confirm or suggest alternative ID.

Also shot this large redeye skipper (pic 2 & 3). Looks like a banana skipper, but I am not sure which one (E. torus or E. thrax thrax)? Again ID help is badly needed here.

Chestnut Angle is correct for #1.

For the Skipper, check C&P4's ID Key and tell me your conclusion. :)

I only looked at plate 58 earlier and could not tell the difference between the two banana skippers. Thanks for pointing out C&P4 ID keys (found on page 373) which state that E. torus has rounded apex and convex termen on forewing whereas E. thrax has pointed apex and almost straight termen. Re-examining plate 58, I could not see this stated difference in the pictures for the two species, but looking at the shots I took, I can see that the skipper has rather convex termen on the forewing. Hence my guess is E. torus.
