Was at Lower Pierce Reservoir forest at around 7:15pm, it was dark already and the sound of nocturnal insects were everywhere. I was concentrating at the sound nearest to me and all of a sudden this insect flew in front of me and the sound stops. Manage to shoot it and later when I enhanced it in my computer found it to be a moth. Anyway can a moth emit calls maybe to attract the opposite sex?
Cheers

Don't know about moths using sound to attract a mate.
Did you notice any bat activity? Moths are known (certain species) to use sound as a way of avoiding predation by bats.

cheers,

Roger.
