As the id of the Horaga sp was unconfirmed, I have removed it from my official list (see here (http://www.butterflypals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162)); so the previous standing was at 68 species.

Though the weather was gloomy today, managed to add two new species to my collection. I will present Species 70 first.

Species 70: Spotted Black Crow

Thanks to the 'extra lesson' by the master, I am now very careful with the species from this genus. Here is an underside view of the one that I encountered today:

May I present Species 69: Lexias canenscens pardalina

Thanks to the master for his guidance. ::thanksyousmile::

Will post some of the rest tomorrow.

Well done on the Lexias! At least you've nailed the bugger without a doubt now.

That was the only underside shot that I have got! If not for this shot.... :hmmm:

Really can't see the colour while it was in flight.

Thanks. That's because the sun was out, and the butts were also out during the period. These were actually shot along the Sime Track, the one u took back to the Ranger Station. ;-) The crow was shot at the Petaling Hut. Have to play 'hide-and-seek' with this bugger.

Khew, giving any common name to Lexias canenscens pardalina? Just a suggestion :embrass: , how about Yellow Archduke or Golden Archduke?

Thanks. I actually put the camera on the floor and waited for it to land. But when it landed nicely, it was sightly out of composition, in that it was at the top of the framing, and part of the wings was out. So I lifted the front of the camera a bit and snapped; this was the only shot obtained. There were three other shots obtained but at diff angle and diff position; this was the best of the lot. I would say that it would have been better if I had gotten the other antennae sharp too. This was shot at iso 100, f4.0, 1/320s, 316mm.

well, if Sime is like Giant, and AH is a minimart, I dare say the forest bfly fairy should be more popular!
