My friend who recently went to Ho Chi Minh City for a tour bought this book for me. Quite an interesting book, though the pictures are all handpainted (but good quality). There are a few photos of butts puddling, including one where there were about 20 Green and White Dragontails puddling.

This book features only the common butterflies of Vietnam and most are similar to what we have here and Malaysia. It was stated though, that Vietnam has over 1000 species, and counting.

Is there a "national butterfly" for each region? :)

Dunno. I suppose that there probably is, unofficial ones. I believe the Malaysians consider the Rajah Brooke's Birdwing as their national butterfly.

Hmmm... I would like to have one. Friend going again? Else I would have to ask my colleague to buy for me.

Unfortunately that was a once-off tour. So you'll have to look for someone who's going to HCM City to get it.
