Dropped by MacRitchie Trail late afternoon today after work. Was trying out manual focusing in a shade at the 50m mark of the trail and spotted this large Papilio spp and started chasing it. Finally got some lousy record shots on it.

All shots taked from far and heavily cropped.

- terrible shot but just for id purposes.

C&P does not show the underside. Try to deduce from elimination, the blur upperside shot and the description on page 69 to arrive at the id - Papilio iswara iswara (female).

Please confirm.

Seems to be P. iswara:

1) hindwing: white patch extended from vein 4 to apex (so 4, 5, 6, 7).
2) hindwing: blue post-discal lunules distal to the white spots in spaces 2,3,4
3) (female) hindwing: two large red-ringed black ocellus at vein 1a, 2

Yes, it's a P. iswara (Great Helen).

For females, the red ocelli are visible on the hindwing tornal area on the upperside. This is not obvious in your shots, as the tornal areas in all 3 shots are either hidden or not clear.
